my birthday=the best day EVER

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

hmmmm......change it up:

One score and three (23) years ago, my foremother brought forth on this continent a new baby, conceived after 4 other children, and dedicated to the proclamation that Jesus is awesome and people should smile.
My birthday was so special. I was very loved.

Mrs Louise and Granny made me this quilt and pillowcase!
My kids at the preschool colored me this birthday cake:
Spaghetti for lunch! My favorite!!!!!!
My AWESOME birthday cake!
My other AWESOME birthday cake with my favorite verse on it!
Icing fight!!!!!
Okay...these candles would NOT blow out! Every time I would blow one out, it would light up again! It took me like 5 minutes until they finally stayed out. It was really funny:)
I got lots of great gifts and a really funny card:)

And then......just when I thought I'd had the BEST birthday day ever, my old roommates and T show up to surprise me! Natalie, Tianna, Lisa, and Marissa! It was SO fun/funny/awesome:)
It was an awesome birthday, not to mention the birthday party I already had with my family in Feb. Thanks everyone for loving me and showing it:)

a GLIMPSE of MX

So, the best way to describe a mission trip is visually. Enjoy!

First of all: the PEOPLE!
and the WORK:
and....some random photography:

whip cream, lazers, and a bowl of soup

What do these things have in common?
They are all things I encountered over the weekend...and I thought the title might be enough to grab your attention:)

Friday: I ate Mexican with the Coulters and Jess and Amber. I got an early birthday surprise from the waiter! Then, bowling. Everything was going well, and I was dominating.....until I pinched my fingers in that "thing" that spits out balls but swallows up fingers (my excuse for losing)....actually, things really started going downhill after I bought/ate those skittles (my other excuse for losing) Mrs Barabara liked the pac-man game:

Saturday: the Sunday school kids + me + Mark&Bekah + Tyler&Whitney hit up the gigantic rescue mission in Nashville and served up some soup, mow-chowed some Quiznos, played some vicious lazer tag, and ate some really tasty pizza. It was a great time.

(wow....my mouth is huge)

On a side note, I'm wondering: can just anybody be a photographer? As long as you have a decent enough camera, you can take some pretty sweet pics. Jess took these on my camera, and I think they're pretty cool:

Now smile because you are loved:) (random but true)

Hello there! This is Cassie Bertsch here:
wanting to tell ya'll about the AWESOME "Bertsch Winter Retreat". It basically consisted of all of the Bertschs stuffing into one hotel for an entire weekend. It was AMAZING!!! I even got a surprise early birthday party since I won't see them until after my birthday. I love them. I love them. I love them. Do you get it yet? I love them!
