NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE

Lovin' the outside from the inside

Clifty falls state park: who knew Indiana had waterfalls? It's the yearly tradition to camp in a pop-up trailer. This year we had a baby too:) When I say "had a baby" I mean there was a baby with us.....not that I actually "birthed a baby".......sigh.....anyways....

It was really, really, really cold, but I bundled up nice and warm and geeky:)

Danny won me that orange ball thing from the pizza hut game! No one ever wins those!

And.....as is appropriate for Halloween season, we were attacked by hideous monsters emerging from the woods to suck our brains out!!!!!! (okay, okay....it was just an ugly possum) My camera only got it's eyes: creepy!

It was oh so sad to pack up and go......but.......

Pumpkin Craze!!

The preschool went on an AWESOME field trip to "The Pumpkin Patch". Remember that I can't post pics of my kids, but I tried to portray how much fun it was. There were animals, hay mazes, corn bins to wade in, pumpkins to pick, farm animals,  giant sunflowers, and a playground made of tractors!

 

Of course, then we had to carve the pumpkins! We made a Cat-in-the-Hat pumpkin for Emily's school. (If you're wondering why I look so ridiculous in the second picture, it's because I'm trying to imitate the pumpkin face I carved)

LOVE/AWESOME FAMILY

 Some of my family came down to visit me in Bama. It was a blast. It also included lovely kids/shrimp boil/fun/laughter/lack of sleeping/dad's famous eggs/sweet tea/a few tears:)

 

(i actually used this many napkins at Greenbriar's BBQ)

 

 *side-note for northerners: this is a shrimp boil: no plates, you just cook it all together and dig in!!!!

This one's for you Hope:) See that gadget to the left???? Please, please respond to the poll. I had an interesting discussion with my Bible study, and I'm just wondering what ya'll think about it. Did you wash your sheets all of the time when you were growin' up?

Also, here's the "LETTER OF THE WEEK" from this past week! That third one is a goat.....just use your imagination:) (that's what I always do) We also made ghosts from suckers and kleenex.......but somehow mine disappeared. I guess ghosts can disappear, right? Okay, fine. I ate him!!!!!! MMHMMM!!!!!

 

....okay that last one doesn't start with a G, she starts with a D (Darci), but I had to throw it in there for a laugh!!!!! Love you Darce!!

Fall Feeling

Whenever I step outside, I get this phenomenal free feeling of fall. Here in Alabama, the leaves haven't turned yet, but the breeze blows and the sun shines. I never had weather like this in Indiana. I can't even describe it or show you with pictures, but I will try anyways!

This is me taking in a breath of fresh air!

And the grass here is different. It's really squishy! I love it! (you can also catch a glimpse of my Dora the Explorer band-aid)

**On a side note, everyday in preschool, we tell a Bible story. For the past week, each day we tell a little more about the Israelites traveling in the wilderness FOREVER! Today, I finally thought: they really do complain A LOT. As if manna, water (from a rock and a bitter lake), and quail weren't enough, they make a golden calf! (don't ask why there's a palm tree in the middle of the dessert...we just always put one up)

(Aren't flannel graphs awesome???!!!!) Those Israelites forget God SO EASILY and were so quick to complain or turn to idols when they thought God wasn't providential or quick enough for their liking. Now, I don't go around building golden calves or anything, but I so VERY OFTEN doubt God's timing, His ways, and Him. Instead of a golden calf, I usually decide to turn toward doubt, my own ways, and even some bitterness, even when He has proved Himself OVER AND OVER. Please Lord, don't break any more "ten commandments" on my account!  What about you?

YEEEE-HAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

This was quite the southern experience. Since I missed out on the Bluffton Street fair food, I loaded up on all the greasy stuff and some great fiddle/mandolin/harmonica/bass/geetar playin'!!!!! They call it: "THE FIDDLER'S CONVENTION".

This was the coolest part of the convention:people from all over the South would just step right up to a stranger they didn't know and start playing. Before you can say, "yee-ha", they've got a whole band playing a song, but not one person knows the other. It was AWESOME!!!! I was going to post a video, but It was too big to attach:( BUMMER! All well, just imagine some men in overalls with ridiculously long beards playing their instruments in a circle:)

Fantastic Fun Foondaloo

...well, i've been reading A LOT of Dr. Seuss, so I figured I could make up a word (Foondaloo) that started with the "LETTER OF THE WEEK"--don don doooooonnnnnn (to be said in a dramatic, adventurous tone). Each week at the preschool, we start a new letter. Can you guess what "LETTER OF THE WEEK" was this week? First to guess will recieve Fourty-Four Farthings Full of Fabulous Fruit For Free!

I always do a craft with the kids. I get most of my ideas from a mix of teacher's books, google, and my brain.
